Original art Gyotaku prints and fish rubbings

Welcome to the Gyotaku Artist Directory. More commonly called fish printing or fish rubbing; Gyotaku has been around for quite a while. Some sources say the 1700s and some the 1800s - regardless of how long, fishermen have been recording their trophy catches this way for over one hundred years and the craft is becoming more popular. Gyotaku artists can be found nearly anywhere the sport fishing is popular. This listing is not meant to be a complete directory of all Gyotaku artists or even highlight the best in the business. If you are a Gyotaku artist and have a web site please email me with your information and I will add you to the directory. Pura Vida from Costa Rica & tight lines!
